Welcome to the Events Week Planning Guide!

We’re delighted you’re considering organising an Events Week. It’s one of the best ways to give every student in your university the opportunity to hear the Gospel! This resource has been developed from years of experience across Europe to help make your Events Week the best it can be!

      How to use this resource

      • Make sure all the members of the planning team have access to it.
      • The resource is split into seven sections — each one a key principle in effective Events Weeks. It’s good for everyone to watch the introductory video for each of these sections.
        1. Planning
        2. Proclamation
        3. Prayer
        4. Preparation
        5. Publicity
        6. Partnership
        7. Persistence
      • Each section contains a number of ‘How to’ guides — these will be especially helpful for those who have responsibility for that particular area.
      • Some of the ‘How to’ guides also contain links to specific examples and other resources that you may find helpful.
      • Create a joint account for your CU so you can have shared access to the Events Week Planner and keep an eye on your progress.

Before we begin, just a note about the terminology we’ll be using throughout this resource, as we are aware that in different countries we use different words to describe Christian student groups. We’ll be using the following:

      • Christian Union (or CU for short) — the ongoing Christian student group on campus.
      • CUG (Christian Union Guest) — someone who has come to help the CU for the Events Week.
      • IFES — International Fellowship of Evangelical Students — the organisation that supports CUs across the world. (In each country the IFES Movement is known by a different name).
      • Staff Worker — someone employed, normally by the local IFES Movement, to support the local CU.

We hope and pray this not only helps you to organise a great Events Week, but that through it, many people might hear and respond to the good news about Jesus.
